a distinct soundtrack. I could've went a million different ways with all of the footage I had but, I only had some much time and it was very frustrating trying to stay abstract and organized at the same time. One thing I wanted to use though, was my shadow and the bouncy footage because I felt that these images would really represent this other world type of feeling. Using a variety of filters and messing with the coloring of my images also supported this new world I was creating. My goal with this film is to capture an out of body, Alice in Wonderland sort of feeling. This piece is representing the structure of a lingering transition between a sober, restrained world and a eccentric, intoxicating, one. Sort of like what happens when you're extremely sleepy or drugged up on cough medicine, minus the dramatic colors and sounds. Enjoy!
This blog features a collection of images and sounds that were recorded during my second drift walk. I decided to take the very familar objects and sounds of Milwaukee's east side and present them in a eccentric, colorful way; enjoy my perspective of life on the east side.

Final Video- Complexed Wonders
This is the final product of all of my ideas, contrasting objects, digital like imagery and

Sound Sketch #2
For this clip I was aiming for more of a steady camera v.s. shaky camera type of thing. The semi digital, scratchy soundtrack for both of
my clips were intentional. As I got closer to creating my final clip, I decided that these sounds go well with what I had in mind. I didn't want any natural sounds because I didn't want my project to be anything near normal. So the crazy sounds and conflicting images gave me the idea of creating some type of digital, electronic world.

Sound Sketch #1
I had allot of footage with shadows on different textures and backgrounds and for this clip I wanted to show off some of those images. I held the camera at the side of my face about eye-level to capture a peripheral vision affect and I shot this around the early evening when the sun began to set. I wasn't sure exactly what I was going for, but I wanted to have some footage that were obviously shot at different times of the day because contrasting images was something I wanted accomplish in my final clip.

Silent Clip- Branches
This clip is some more still images, but of bush branches, and a weird branch fort-like object. At this point I was beginning to come up with some ideas for my final video, I was going to focus on contrasting themes like night and day and have some type of connection between the two but the more footage I gathered, the more I began to change my mind.
Silent Clip: Pathways
This brief clip is made of stills,
these are some of the pictures I took at the end of a few blocks. I usually snapped pictures in the middle of a block, at an intersection or at the corner of a block. I really liked the idea of pathways and I wanted to include the concept of pathways connecting and bare trees in my final video, but I couldn't seem to figure out a way to put it all together in a creative, abstract way.

Drift Strategy
My drift strategy for my sound recordings was a penny toss. Every head the penny would land on I would turn left at the end of the block, for every tail I would turn right. If I ended up at a dead end I would re flip the penny at the nearest corner.
For my images and video recordings I chose three strategies: mimic bouncing, peripheral vision and capturing trees w/out leaves. I also took pictures about every other block and when I was filming sometimes I would hang the camera over my back or by on my wrist as I was walking. I used a variety of strategies because I liked the idea of seeing things at different angles and plus, filming the original way can get a little boring after a while.
